The students have finished their personal narratives. We are finishing up chapter 6 in science (The Solar System). We finished topics 1-5 in math. We LOVE algebra! PEMDAS is our BEST friend! The Sign of the Beaver is keeping us busy making inferences and students are practicing using their own books. An inference is using the facts from the book plus what you already know to come up with your own idea (inference).

Ask you student to explain PEMDAS, fusion, and the difference between a comet and astroid. There is so much to learn in 5th grade and we are having fun!

Report cards go home on November 18.
