Green Valley Elementary School Site
Council has the ongoing responsibility to review with the
principal, parents, teachers, school personnel and pupils the
implementation of the school improvement program and to assess
periodically the effectiveness of such a program. The council shall
carry out all other duties and responsibilities assigned to it in the
Education Code of the State of California.
The primary task of the School Site Council is to
identify and implement curriculum and instructional practices that
result in both strengthening the core academic program and ensuring
that students have access to and success in that program. The purpose
is to establish and maintain a comprehensive and ongoing strategy to
improve curriculum and instruction, thus improving student achievement.
The Strategic Planning Teams meet monthly to establish
specific goals and to work toward their completion. Every teacher is a
member of a team and all parents are invited and encouraged to join the
team of their choice. The following teams have been established:

- Curriculum/Staff Development
- Facilities
- Learning Environment
- Technology
