2nd ANNUAL GRATEFUL GATHERING (MAY 6):
We hope you can join us for our 2nd Annual Grateful Gatherings on Saturday, May 6th. This year, we are helping two households: a single elderly woman with breast cancer, and a veteran of the US Navy, his wife and three children (8 yrs, 14 yrs & 16 yrs). With your help, we hope to be able to fully furnish their new homes with quality donated furniture and household goods. To sign-up to help, please click here.
GV RUN CLUB IS BACK (NOW-MAY 26):
SAVE ON SUPPLIES ORDERS DUE BY JUNE 1: Now that warm weather and clear skies are here, the Green Valley Run Club has picked up from where it left off. Students are invited to join Coach Matt on the blacktop every Friday from 8-8:30 am. Parents are also encouraged to participate and run with the kids. But, if running isn't your thing, Coach Matt could really use some volunteers to help keep track of laps, as well as provide water and hot chocolate for the runners. To sign up as a volunteer, please click here.
Green Valley and Save On Supplies are combining forces for a 13th year to offer you the opportunity to buy your child's Back-to-School supplies early. By combining your early purchase with those of other parents, we are able to buy the supplies in quantity and save money. All you have to do is fill out the order form and return it to the front office, with your check, by June 1st.
GREEN VALLEY'S "SCHOOL WIDE READ ALOUD" PROGRAM:
Every month Green Valley picks a book for its School Wide Read Aloud program (SWRA) - a unique non-curriculum initiative that was first introduced to Green Valley students, across all grades, about 10 years ago. Each chosen book touches upon an important theme, to help meet and address the social and emotional needs of students. As with any school initiative that falls outside of public funding, we rely on the financial support of the Green Valley community. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for SWRA this year.
DANVILLE PD NOW TICKETING IN FRONT LOT:
The Danville Police Department has begun to ticket parents who are not following signage about when it is okay to park in the front school lot and when it is not. Please remember that the correct drop off for children is from the McCauley Road exit. Help keep the children safe (and avoid a ticket), by only dropping off and picking up in the back lot.
