COFFEE WITH SRVUSD SUPERINTENDENT AT GV ON DEC. 12:
Meet San Ramon Valley Unified School District’s new Superintendent Rick Schmitt at our “Coffee with the Superintendent” on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 8:45 in the Green Valley MPR. At this coffee, the Superintendent will share a little about his priorities, the District’s “Framework for Excellence” and his philosophy. What Mr. Schmitt most appreciates is hearing from parents and one of his priorities is two-way communication. He always walks away from these meetings having learned new, interesting and important information. The Superintendent will be meeting with every school parent community this fall. If you can’t make this event, check out www.srvusd.net/coffeeswithsupt for details of other meetings. If you have questions, please email his Executive Assistant Cindy Fischer.
HELP OUR TEACHERS GET NEW TECH WITH DONORSCHOOSE:

GREEN VALLEY'S "SCHOOL WIDE READ ALOUD" PROGRAM:
Every month Green Valley picks a book for its School Wide Read Aloud program (SWRA) - a unique non-curriculum initiative that was first introduced to Green Valley students, across all grades, about 10 years ago. Each chosen book touches upon an important theme, to help meet and address the social and emotional needs of students. As with any school initiative that falls outside of public funding, we rely on the financial support of the Green Valley community. Our goal is to raise $3,000 for SWRA this year.
THREE TEACHERS GET FULLY FUNDED GRANTS FROM SRVEF:
The first grant was written by Eva Kowalewicz for flexible classroom seating, the second was written by Katie Robinson for graphic novels, and the third was written by Sarah Rick for new Orff instruments. Thanks to our Learning Fund, Sarah's grant will be matched to help us buy more of these instruments to support our music program. These grants provide an excellent opportunity for our school. Congratulations to Eva, Katie, and Sarah and thank you for supporting our kids!
GREEN VALLEY WINS ANOTHER AWARD!:
Green Valley has been chosen by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) as a 2015 California Honor Roll recipient! The California Honor Roll is part of a national effort known for its extensive and rigorous analysis of student achievement in public schools. Our school stood above other schools in the state because of our success in getting students to higher levels of achievement and beyond.
